
KNIFE AND FORK CHILI TURKEY BURGERS
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lbs organic ground turkey
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheese
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- pinch of cayenne, note: skip if you don’t like heat
- 1 large egg beaten
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- -Garnishes- take your pick
- mayonnaise and/or mustard
- BBQ Sauce and/or ketchup
- lettuce
- tomato slices
- onion slices
- pickles
- avocado slices
- buns optional
Instructions
- Make the burgers: Mix all the ingredients together with your hands except the oil, in a bowl.
- Divide the meat mixture into 10 equal-sized patties.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. OR GRILL. Working in batches, cook the burgers, turning once, until lightly browned and cooked through about 7 mins per side (If you want to check it with an instant-read thermometer, look for at least 165 F).
- Divide the burgers on plates and dollop each burger with your choice of toppings. Fix with or without buns and pair with a nice, simple green salad. Enjoy!
